The Working Islands system restricts replacement to the sites where procedures are performed. Smaller, lighter parts make replacement faster and more affordable, while an artificial-skin layer responds realistically to handling, cutting and suturing.

Each Working Island follows the different layers of the human body, making it suitable for practicing different procedures.
Cricothyroid puncture and surgical cricothyroidotomy
Cricothyroid puncture and surgical cricothyroidotomy
Single-use part made of skin, subcutaneous tissue and a deep membrane corresponding to the cricothyroid ligament. Blunt dissection facilitates individualization. It is used for cricothyroid puncture and then surgical cricothyroidotomy.
Thoracocentesis

It mimics the thickness and resistance of the site. One part can be used for the procedure up to four times, serving four students.
Pleural drainage

Single-use part made of skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscle, with a deep membrane corresponding to the parietal pleura. Blunt dissection gives a resistance feel and a sound effect similar to the real procedure.

It mimics the thickness and resistance of the site. Its square shape uses the xiphoid appendix as a puncture landmark. One part can be used up to four times, serving four students.

Replacement kits
The Working Islands are sold in two different kits.
- Kit 56A kit containing 56 disposable parts. It enables up to 16 students to perform all procedures, in addition to incisions and sutures at the working sites.
- Kit 40A kit containing 40 disposable parts. It enables up to 16 students to perform cricothyroid puncture and surgery, thoracic puncture and pleural drainage, in addition to incisions and sutures at the working sites.
